Job Description

INTRODUCTION

elseco is a high technology specialty insurance underwriting platform. More than 50 insurance and reinsurance companies including Lloyd's syndicates are currently trading on the platform. elseco group has regulated offices in London, Zurich, Paris and Dubai. elseco via its newly launched Atom technology platform is providing the most advanced underwriting services to its partners.

The company started 15 years ago with space insurance and has since diversified into aviation, energy and Political Violence insurance as well, employing some 85 professionals.

JOB PURPOSE

The Claims Administrator supports the Aviation Claims Team in the efficient administration, processing, and monitoring of claims activities, ensuring accurate records, timely communications, and compliance with internal procedures and service level agreements.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Claims Administrator you will be expected to:

  • Maintain and manage the claims mailbox, ensuring all incoming correspondence is reviewed, allocated, and actioned within the agreed SLA.
  • Process claims notifications received from brokers, including first advice notices, reserve updates, and settlement requests.
  • Ensure queries from members and brokers are responded to promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure all claims are accurately recorded, maintained, and updated within the claims management system.
  • Maintain the elseco document management system, ensuring files are complete, organised, and up to date.
  • Review incoming notifications and identify matters requiring referral to members for agreement and payment processing.
  • Work closely with the Accounts Team to facilitate timely and accurate claim settlements.
  • Perform compliance and due diligence checks relevant to individual claim files and accounts.
  • Review and verify the monthly claims bordereau prior to distribution to members.
  • Generate periodic and ad hoc management reports as required.
  • Prepare and issue debit notes to members where cash calls are required, including maintaining diaries and follow-up actions.
  • Escalate issues to the Head fo Claims relating to claim payments, collections, claim fund management, or broker complaints.
  • Support the Compliance Team during internal audits and annual review processes.
  • Conduct periodic quality assurance checks on claims processed within the team.
  • Assist with continuous improvement of claims administration processes and controls.
  • Undertake any additional duties as reasonably assigned by the Head of Claims.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in insurance operations, claims administration or underwriting support.
  • Qualification: Professional insurance qualification (e.g., CII) or Degree or diploma in Finance or Accounting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills and high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
