Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to define, design, and oversee the cloud architecture for our client's cloud platforms, supporting environments across Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on establishing scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures and ensuring their successful implementation and operation within missioncritical environments.
The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders, engineering, and operations teams to ensure the optimal design and operation of cloud systems throughout the project duration, leveraging platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Alibaba Cloud, and Huawei Cloud. Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory.
Scope of the Role
- Define and govern the cloud architecture for the client's cloud platforms, including GCP and Alibaba Cloud
- Ensure architectural alignment with business objectives, security requirements, and operational standards
- Support cloud platforms throughout the full lifecycle, from architecture and design to implementation and ongoing operations
- Collaborate with engineering, SRE, security, and operations teams to ensure architectural consistency and operational excellence
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain endtoend cloud architecture for complex, largescale environments
- Define cloud reference architectures, standards, and best practices
- Ensure architectures meet requirements for scalability, performance, security, reliability, and compliance
- Guide and support Cloud Engineers and SRE teams during implementation and operations
- Define and oversee Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation standards
- Review and validate cloud designs, changes, and migration strategies
- Support cloud transformation initiatives, platform upgrades, and modernization programs
- Ensure costeffective cloud architecture and optimization strategies
- Document cloud architectures, design decisions, and technical standards
- Act as a key technical advisor for stakeholders and decisionmakers
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or Senior Cloud Engineer with architectural responsibilities
- Strong handson experience with at least one of the following cloud platforms:
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Alibaba Cloud
- Huawei Cloud
- Demonstrated experience designing and governing enterprisescale cloud architectures
- Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, automation, and distributed systems
- Mandatory fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written)
- Experience working in multicultural and geographically distributed environments, including the Middle East and Europe
- Strong analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and nontechnical stakeholders
