Job Description
The Cloud Consultant is responsible for building, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure and services. You work hands-on to implement secure, scalable, and automated cloud solutions that meet performance and availability goals. You support cloud operations, improve infrastructure through automation, and troubleshoot issues. This role demands strong technical execution, infrastructure knowledge, and cloud platform skills, serving as a core executor for hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions, building standard landing zones.
- Support the development of automation scripts and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Participate in infrastructure assessments using automated discovery tools and assist in planning and executing cloud migrations.
- Manage routine cloud operations, including automated patching, backup and restore operations, and resolving basic to intermediate troubleshooting issues.
- Handle incidents, problems, and changes through integrated ITSM workflows.
- Help implement cloud governance, manage Identity Lifecycle tasks (RBAC/ABAC policies), and enforce compliance standards.
- Contribute to cloud resource optimization by applying FinOps best practices and performance tuning.
- Execute basic Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies, drills, and validation checkpoints.
- Support customer workshops, solution demos, and technical documentation during pre-sales engagements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of cloud environments, infrastructure changes, and standard operating procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 25 years of experience in cloud infrastructure deployment and support.
- Experience with at least one major public cloud platform, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Understanding of core cloud concepts such as virtualization, containers, networking, IAM, and security.
- Familiarity with tools used for cloud assessment, migration, and monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with basic cloud security controls and compliance practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or within a team.
- Relevant Associate-level certification (e.g., Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with specific Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as Compute Engine, VPC, IAM, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, and GKE.
- Experience with VMware or hybrid cloud environments and integration with on-premises infrastructure (e.g., using VPNs, Interconnect).
- Experience participating in cloud migration projects.
- Interest in cloud-native architectures and application modernization
- Exposure to CI/CD tools like GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions for infrastructure automation.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Google Cloud Operations Suite.
- Basic scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with clients, both technical and non-technical.
- Experience working in agile project environments and using tools like Jira or Confluence.
