Purpose
We are looking for a highly analytical and commercially minded Commercial Insights Manager to serve as the intelligence engine of the OFTI Group. You will convert raw data from our Azure Hive data warehouse into precise revenue intelligence — enabling faster, smarter decisions on pricing, promotions, and market share across all Ooredoo Fintech markets. This role is the analytical backbone of the Commercial team, ensuring the stakeholders are always the best-informed.
With international remittance as the primary revenue engine and a bold vision to evolve into a full-stack lifestyle financial platform, OFTI is at an inflection point. The Commercial Insights Manager sits at the heart of this transformation — embedded within the central Group Commercial team and providing the market-level intelligence that drives the P&L across all markets.
Context
Ooredoo Fintech (OFT) is a fast-growing scale-up on a mission to empower people and businesses across the MENA region with innovative financial solutions. Backed by the strength and heritage of Ooredoo Group and driven by a passionate team, we deliver secure, intuitive money tools through our brands: Ooredoo Money, walletii, and m-Faisaa, serving users in Qatar, Oman, and the Maldives. Working with us presents a unique and exciting opportunity to make a difference and be part of a revolution where we are leveraging financial technology to provide accessible, empowering tools.
Role Accountabilities
- Act as the primary commercial insights owner with the central DWH and Tech teams, ensuring commercial data requirements are well-defined and prioritized in the data engineering roadmap.
- Commercial Interpretation: Interpret and monetize data provided by the DWH — converting raw outputs into Strategic Dashboards and daily performance briefs that allow country teams to track their Remittance and Wallet targets in real time.
- Commercial Insights Framework: Build a scalable Commercial Insights Framework — including automated daily scripts and executive-ready P&L summaries — that translates DWH outputs into consistent, decision-ready tools for the stakeholders
- P&L Modelling: Develop Python and SQL-based models to simulate the impact of rate changes, promotional investments, and partner incentive structures on Revenue and Margin Contribution across all OFTI markets.
- Revenue Uplift Identification: Proactively identify and quantify high-impact Revenue Uplift levers—such as optimizing price elasticity in key corridors or targeting underserved micro-segments—to design data-driven commercial interventions that capture incremental top-line growth and margin expansion.
- Predictive Targeting: Design customer segments for automated CVM (Customer Value Management) — identifying which users require a targeted offer to prevent churn, reactivate, accelerate first transaction, or drive cross-sell into wallet and card products.
- Data Liaison: Partner with the DWH team as the Lead Commercial Requester — translating complex business questions into clear, prioritized Data Engineering tickets and ensuring the DWH roadmap evolves in line with the group's commercial intelligence needs.
- Revenue Quality Control: Conduct transaction-level reconciliation for partner funded commercial campaigns.
Experience
- Experience: 5–8 years in an analytical or commercial role within Fintech, Banking, or Management Consulting, with a track record of converting data into commercial outcomes.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and Python is mandatory. Hands-on experience with cloud data environments (Azure Hive or equivalent) and statistical or ML modeling is strongly preferred.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong grasp of Fintech P&L dynamics, remittance pricing mechanics, and unit economics across consumer financial products.
Minimum Entry Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or Engineering). MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is a strong plus.
Personal Profile
- Detail-obsessed with a commercial mindset — able to find the business implication in the data, not just the statistical answer.
- Comfortable operating as a strategic partner to senior leadership, translating complex models into clear, confident business narratives.
- Highest standards of integrity and discretion when handling transaction-level financial and partner data.
