Job Summary

The Commercial Manager will lead and manage all commercial activities of the manufacturing business, including pricing, contracts, sales strategy, market expansion, and profitability. The role is responsible for driving revenue growth while ensuring strong commercial governance, risk management, and compliance with UAE regulations.

Key Responsibilities Commercial Manager

The Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing all commercial and contractual aspects of projects, ensuring financial control, risk mitigation, and alignment with company objectives.

1. Contract Management & Negotiation

Review, verify, and negotiate all draft agreements, Letters of Award (LOAs), and contracts with clients to ensure commercial protection and compliance.

Initiate, draft, and negotiate agreements and LOAs with subcontractors, ensuring favorable terms and risk mitigation.

Lead contract negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Ensure thorough understanding and application of FIDIC conditions of contract.

2. Commercial Strategy & Governance

Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with the company's objectives and growth plans.

Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements.

Review insurance policies and bank guarantees to ensure alignment with contractual obligations and company policies.

Establish payment terms for suppliers and subcontractors in line with company policy and cash flow requirements.

3. Financial Management & Cost Control

Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and detailed commercial reports.

Control project costs and review price comparisons to ensure competitiveness and profitability.

Coordinate with the Finance Department regarding upcoming payments, invoices, and cash flow planning.

Prepare interim payment applications to clients in coordination with the QS team and Project Managers.

4. Subcontractor & Supplier Management

Lead and supervise the Quantity Surveying (QS) team in verifying and certifying subcontractor payments.

Ensure proper verification, valuation, and approval of subcontractor claims.

Maintain structured commercial control over suppliers and subcontractors.

5. Claims, Variations & Final Accounts

Manage and finalize variations, claims, and extension of time (EOT) submissions in coordination with project teams.

Negotiate and close final accounts with clients and subcontractors.

Manage commercial risks and proactively resolve disputes or contractual claims.

6. Cross-Functional Coordination & Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with project teams, sales, finance, and operations departments to enhance project profitability.

Maintain strong professional relationships with clients, stakeholders, consultants, and subcontractors.

Provide commercial guidance and leadership to project teams.
