The Commercial Manager will be responsible for day-to-day commercial activities, tendering activities, procurement activities, team management, contract negotiation, and utilizing analytical skills to drive business growth.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end tendering and bidding process for civil construction projects
- Lead contract negotiations and ensure proper execution and administration
- Oversee procurement activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and services
- Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring accurate commercial reporting and forecasting
- Supervise and support the commercial and quantity surveying team to ensure effective project delivery
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to align on commercial objectives
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks while exploring value-add opportunities
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, legal requirements, and company policies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 8 - 12 years of relevant experience in commercial management within the civil construction industry.
- Proven experience in managing tendering, contract administration, and procurement for large-scale civil projects.
- Prior experience working with FIDIC or similar standard forms of contract is preferred.
- Experience in both contractor and consultancy environments is an advantage
