Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead pricing strategy, commercial negotiations, tendering, and vendor/client relationships within the building materials / construction sector. This role is focused on commercial performance, profitability, and strategic growthnot traditional accounting.
Key Responsibilities- Lead negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to achieve optimal pricing and favorable contract conditions
- Oversee the preparation of commercial proposals, bids, and tenders, ensuring accurate cost estimation and compliance with client requirements
- Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and supplier performance to support strategic purchasing and pricing decisions
- Review contracts and commercial agreements to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to company policies and legal standards
- Evaluate project margins, profitability, and commercial performance to support management decision-making
- Manage and optimize product lines in line with market demand and margin objectives
- Create, maintain, and control the approved vendor register
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, consultants, and vendors to support business growth and long-term partnerships
- Work closely with Sales, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure commercial alignment and smooth execution
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of commercial experience in the building materials or construction industry
- Strong expertise in pricing, negotiations, tenders, and vendor management
- Experience handling multiple suppliers, product categories, and large-value projects
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of commercial decisions
