Commercial Officer reports to the Commercial Director and handles and coordinates the company's commercial aspects.
Key Responsibilities:
To assist the Commercial Director in the tendering procedures. This includes reviewing, drafting, editing, compiling & submitting the final bid. If required, assist and address clients clarifications on the bid.
Handle prequalification procedure/vendor qualifications. Monitor clients websites & supplier portals for tender announcements.
Assist in drafting quotations. Maintain a database of inquiries received & quotations sent.
Assist the Commercial Department in daily administrative tasks: writing professionally structured emails & letters, maintaining & updating files in Dropbox, organizing hardcopy files into relevant folders, arranging meetings, and attending to phone calls etc.
Assisting in writing and editing marketing materials, which include presentations, articles, introductory/thank you emails etc.
Assist in drafting reports.
Communicate requirements to shipbrokers, shipowners and partners with discretion, under the advice and instruction of the Commercial Director.
Attend external meetings, exhibitions, seminars & conferences for networking purposes, client management, and/or additional training.
Assist in the collation of market intelligence information and competition profiling.
Comply with the Company's quality, health, safety, security, and environment policy.
Accountability
Responsible for providing administrative support to the Commercial Department and assisting in the smooth running of the online & email marketing and tendering activities of the department.
Market company products and services to oil companies and service companies
Analyze, provide, and present market dynamics, size, opportunities & risks to the business.
Research competitors and competitor products by identifying and evaluating product characteristics, market share and pricing.
Be a key member of the central Commercial & Chartering team.
Maintaining up-to-date vessel datasheets for website and marketing purposes.
Prepare (potential) customer visit plans
Handling a full set of shipping documents and L/C negotiations/preparation
Accomplishes the commercial and organizational mission by completing related results and assignments as needed

Minimum Requirements:
Proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills.
knowledgeable in bid preparation, proposal preparation, and negotiation.
Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Finance/ Business Administration, or a relevant degree, is a must.
Experience: 5+ years of related work experience in Marine is a must.
