Shape Your Career with Saadiyat Beach Club by Aldar Hospitality

As a Commis I Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation, baking, and decoration of high-quality desserts, pastries, and baked goods, ensuring they meet the beach club's standards of taste and presentation. You will take on more complex tasks, work independently on assigned sections, and help maintain an organized and efficient kitchen.

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastry items including cakes, pastries, tarts, cookies, and desserts, ensuring the highest quality and consistency. Follow recipes, processes, and guidelines set by the Jr. Sous Chef.
  • Assist in the creation of visually appealing desserts, paying special attention to the artistic presentation that aligns with the beach club's aesthetic, particularly for special events or seasonal offerings.
  • Monitor stock levels of pastry ingredients, and communicate with the Jr. Sous Chef about supplies that need replenishing. Ensure that all ingredients are stored properly and used in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Jr. Sous Chef to brainstorm and create new dessert offerings, keeping in mind seasonal trends and local ingredients. Contribute ideas for menu changes or special event offerings.
  • Ensure consistency in the taste, texture, and appearance of each dish and pastry. Maintain attention to detail when following recipes and techniques.
  • Take a leadership role in assisting Commis II Pastry chefs and other junior team members, ensuring they are trained and working efficiently. Offer guidance while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations. Keep workstations clean and organized, ensuring that all pastry tools and equipment are well-maintained.
  • Ability to work closely with other chefs and kitchen staff. Excellent communication skills to ensure smooth operations in a collaborative environment.
