Job summary/Role description
- Commissioning Electrical Supervisor executes the activities pertaining to his discipline in compliance with the quality requirements, health / environmental / safety regulations and following the stated procedures.
- He / she reports to the Commissioning Electrical Superintendent (CET)
- He / she is assigned to the Project by AVIMP Head of Department.
Duties and responsibilities
- To develop the detailed pre-commissioning procedures for electrical items & packages, procedures for the functional tests of the electrical Items according to the instructions of Commissioning Electrical Superintendent.
- To field check the DAC and prepare relevant commissioning punch list, following the CME instructions.
- Follow up of activities according to the schedule and by applying the procedures and safety rules.
- To organize and manage the operations in field of the assigned team from the sub-contractor by controlling their job and the implementation of plant safety procedures in case of emergency.
- To keep records of all activities performed in the logbook for the purpose of monitoring the progress achieved and apply necessary recovery actions.
- To supervise the activities of electrical substation power on and motor run in field.
- Ensure the application of the TAG-OUT/LOCK OUT.
- Support the Vendors specialists in the execution of the job and coordinate their actions with the commissioning supervisors.
- Supervise the works of vendors specialists and ensure their efficient utilization.
- During the execution of the interlocks, logic and sequence test, check in MCC that all the actions required or actuated from the board operator are properly performed.
- Carry out operation of the starters as per the approved work permit request.
- To ensure that all the activities are witnessed by the client, prepare and sign off all relevant certificates and hand over to certification engineer.
- Can be the authorized person designated by the site manager to receive or issue a permit to work according to the project permit to work procedure.
Person Specification
Knowledge & Qualifications
- University Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum of 10-12 years work experience.
- Significant experience in a similar position on EPC Oil & Gas projects/Refinery.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership and coordination skills.
- Good judgment and decision-making under pressure.
- Effective communication and reporting skills.
- Proficient in English (written and spoken).
