As we continue to expand our projects and presence in the Middle East, we are looking for a dedicated professional to ensure our operations in Saudi Arabia remain compliant, efficient, and aligned with local regulations.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Compliance Officer to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will navigate the legal and regulatory landscape of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, acting as the bridge between our Global framework and local requirements. You will handle a diverse range of responsibilities spanning commercial law, corporate governance, and employment regulations, ensuring that UNS operates with integrity and legal precision in the region.
- Contracting & Commercial Law
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide spectrum of contracts, including vendor/supplier agreements, client contracts, NDAs, service level agreements, and partnership deals.
- Provide pragmatic risk assessments and commercial legal advice to internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth project operations.
- Corporate Governance & Hygiene
- Maintain all corporate records, including Articles of Association, board minutes, shareholder resolutions, and regulatory filings.
- Manage corporate secretarial duties and ensure strict adherence to all KSA corporate laws and regulations.
- Liaise effectively with relevant Saudi authorities (e.g., Ministry of Commerce, ZATCA).
- Advise on corporate structure and governance best practices as the company evolves within the region.
- Compliance & Regulatory Affairs
- Develop, implement, and manage the company's overall compliance program tailored to the local market.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable Saudi laws, including labor law, anti-corruption standards, data privacy (PDPL), and sector-specific requirements.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and provide necessary training for employees.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries and audits.
- HR & Employment Law
- Draft, review, and update employment contracts, offer letters, and company policies in compliance with Saudi Labor Law and Nitaqat regulations.
- Maintain the Employee Handbook, ensuring it reflects current local legislation.
- Advise management on employee relations, disciplinary actions, terminations, and dispute resolution.
- Support the Global HR team in developing legally sound policies for performance management, leaves, and Code of Conduct, harmonizing our global HR framework with local practices.
- General Advisory & Risk Management
- Provide timely, clear, and practical legal advice to leadership.
- Identify potential legal risks early and propose effective mitigation strategies.
- Instruct and manage relationships with external law firms when specialized expertise is required, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
Job requirements
- Nationality: Saudi National or candidate with a transferable Iqama.
- Education: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or equivalent from a recognized university; a Master's degree is a plus.
- Licensure: Admission to practice law in Saudi Arabia.
- Experience: 3-7 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with a mix of training at a reputable law firm and in-house experience within KSA.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of Saudi Labor Law, Corporate Law, and regulatory frameworks.
- Additional Skills: Experience in HR, Government Relations Officer (GRO), or Public Relations Officer (PRO) roles is considered a strong plus.
- Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken) is required.
