We are seeking a Construction Manager as part of DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH, Riyadh Branch. The job opening is located in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing project execution from the design review phase through construction completion. This role ensures that designs are practical, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with project objectives, while supervising on-site construction activities to ensure quality, safety, and timely delivery.
- Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings for constructability and coordination.
- Identify design inconsistencies, conflicts, and potential risks.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and project specifications.
- Provide value engineering recommendations to optimize cost and efficiency.
- Coordinate with consultants, designers, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
- Participate in project budgeting, scheduling, and procurement planning.
- Oversee daily site operations and monitor contractor performance.
- Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitors project progress against schedule and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control.
- Ensure Health, Safety, Security & Environment, Quality Assurance and Waste Management requirements are fulfilled.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
- Verify completed work for progress payments and certification.
- Manage site meetings and prepare progress reports.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.
- Resolve disputes and technical issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover processes.
- Ensure completion of punch lists and final inspections.
- Review and approve as-built drawings and O&M manuals.
- Support final account settlement.
Qualifications:
- Preferred Master's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related field.
- At least 20 years of experience in construction supervision infrastructure projects, including at least 10 years of experience in railway projects. Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams.
- Have working experience in KSA or another GCC country.
- Solid understanding and track record in program management, design review and construction supervision railways project.
- Track record in resource planning, quality and safety management, customer, and stakeholder management, etc.
- Demonstrated initiative, drive, leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, and quest for optimization.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well organization and planning skills.
- Ability to work in a cooperative team environment, with stakeholders from very different fields.
- Excellent communication skills fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Arabic language communication skills will be an advantage.
- User skills in MS Office applications MS Projects and/or Primavera.
- Driving license required to drive to site or to technical meetings with the client representative.
