Responsibilities

  • Perform surgical procedures on organs within the thoracic cavity, including operations on the heart, lungs, and mediastinum
  • Assess patients medical histories and diagnostic results to determine appropriate surgical interventions
  • Work in conjunction with cardiologists, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety
  • Monitor patients during the post-operative recovery phase and manage any complications that may occur
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding surgical options and postoperative care
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all surgical procedures and patient interactions
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments and advancements in cardio thoracic surgical techniques and technologies

Requirements

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution with specialization in Cardio Thoracic Surgery
  • Board certification in Cardio Thoracic Surgery
  • Current medical license to practice
  • Significant experience performing cardio thoracic surgical procedures in a hospital or clinical environment
  • In-depth knowledge of thoracic anatomy and surgical practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a team effectively
  • Capability to handle high-pressure situations and make critical decisions collaboratively
