Consultant Family Medicine / Primary Care Physician Job Description.

A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Consultant Family Medicine / Primary Care Physician to join its multidisciplinary clinical team. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care across all age groups, emphasizing preventive medicine, early diagnosis, and long-term health management.

Role Overview

  • Setting: Primary Care / Family Medicine Department (Outpatient Clinic or Hospital-Based)
  • Experience Required: Minimum 3+ years post board certification
  • Scope: Comprehensive care for individuals and families across all age groups
  • Practice Model: Preventive care, chronic disease management, and continuity of care

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary healthcare services to patients of all ages (adults, pediatrics, geriatrics)
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Conduct routine health check-ups, screenings, and preventive care services
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment and care plans
  • Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and cardiovascular conditions
  • Promote preventive health through vaccinations, lifestyle counseling, and health education
  • Perform minor clinical procedures as appropriate within scope of practice
  • Coordinate patient care with specialists and allied healthcare professionals
  • Ensure continuity of care through regular follow-ups and patient monitoring
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records in compliance with regulations
  • Respond to urgent and non-emergency medical cases in a timely manner
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and adherence to best practices
  • Educate patients and families on disease prevention and health maintenance

Eligibility & Qualifications

Candidates should hold one of the following (or equivalent recognized qualifications):

  • American Board Certification in Family Medicine
  • Membership / Fellowship of the Royal College (UK / Canada)
  • Arab Board of Family Medicine
  • Equivalent internationally recognized qualification.
