American Hospital Dubai is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon with a subspecialty focus in Sports Medicine to join its multidisciplinary orthopedic and musculoskeletal team. The successful candidate will provide advanced surgical and non-surgical management of sports-related injuries, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care aligned with international best practices.
About the Role
The Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon will be responsible for diagnosing and managing acute and chronic sports-related musculoskeletal injuries.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic sports-related musculoskeletal injuries.
- Perform advanced arthroscopic and minimally invasive procedures involving the knee, shoulder, hip, and ankle.
- Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans in collaboration with physiotherapy and sports performance teams.
- Lead multidisciplinary clinics focused on sports injury prevention and recovery.
- Provide expert consultation for athletes and active individuals, including return-to-play assessments.
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based protocol development.
- Mentor junior physicians and contribute to teaching, research, and continuing medical education activities.
- Support expansion of Sports Medicine services across hospital and satellite clinics.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree with completion of accredited Orthopedic Surgery training.
- Fellowship training in Sports Medicine / Arthroscopy preferred.
- Board certification (American Board, UK CCT, European Board, or equivalent Tier-1 qualification).
- Minimum 5+ years experience at Consultant level in Orthopedic Sports Medicine.
- Eligibility for DHA Consultant license.
- Strong clinical leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
