Job Summary

The Contracts Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing all financial operations related to project contracts and progress payments in the construction and engineering consultancy sector, ensuring compliance with agreements and company financial policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review contractors and suppliers invoices and progress claims according to contract terms.
  • Reconcile claims with project progress reports and engineering data.
  • Monitor payments and collections, ensuring timely financial transactions.
  • Record accounting entries related to contracts and claims.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports on costs, payments, and contract performance.
  • Coordinate with the finance and engineering teams to ensure data accuracy.
  • Track contract obligations and retentions according to agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual financial terms and internal policies.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Practical experience in contract accounting or progress payments, preferably in the construction and engineering consultancy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and Excel.
  • High attention to detail and financial analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with different departments.
