Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Contracts Manager to lead commercial and contractual activities for railway capacity upgrade projects. You will manage multiple construction packages (civil, track, geotechnical, MEP, signaling) ensuring compliance with FIDIC contract conditions while mitigating risks associated with live railway interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and supply agreements for railway infrastructure works, including earthworks and geotechnical packages.
  • Coordinate with procurement, QS, planning and cost teams to ensure integrated commercial control.
  • Administer FIDIC contracts and manage variations, claims, and extensions of time (EOT) arising from differing ground conditions or design changes.
  • Ensure all contractors and subcontractors comply with contractual terms and railway safety protocols.
  • Monitor project budgets, cost control, and payment certifications across multiple work packages.
  • Manage dispute resolution and assist in preparing documentation for arbitration if necessary.
  • Liaise between project managers, legal teams, and client representatives.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
  • Professional certification (e.g., RICS, CIArb) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 18-25 years of experience in contracts management on large infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with heavy haul freight rail or mining rail projects is an added advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of FIDIC contract suites (Red Book, Yellow Book) and local procurement laws.
  • Experience managing contractual interfaces on brownfield operational railway sites.
