Job Description

The IDMC Data Governance Specialist will be based in our client's Riyadh office and will be responsible for collaborating with various departments and stakeholders to establish, implement, and monitor data governance practices in alignment with NDMO standards, the National Data Governance Framework, and other applicable regulations. The role ensures that data is managed as a strategic asset while maintaining compliance with local regulatory and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain data governance strategies, policies, and frameworks in line with NDMO standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data governance objectives, standards, and metrics aligned with business goals, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
  • Establish and monitor governance processes, including data quality, metadata management, master data management, data access controls, classification, and retention.
  • Support data owners, custodians, and stewards in fulfilling their roles within the data governance framework.
  • Conduct data risk assessments and ensure the implementation of appropriate data protection, privacy, and security controls in compliance with country laws and international best practices.
  • Document and maintain data governance policies, procedures, data dictionaries, and data classification frameworks.
  • Support the implementation and use of data governance tools and technologies, including Informatica IDMC.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with governance policies, standards, and procedures, including data access, data quality, and information security.
  • Contribute to awareness programs, training, and initiatives to foster a data-driven culture and enhance data literacy across the organization.
  • Stay updated with NDMO frameworks and international best practices, ensuring alignment and compliance.
  • Support projects and programs where data governance practices are critical.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related role.
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance concepts, principles, and industry best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of NDMO standards and data-related regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
