About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Corporate Insurance Manager to lead the full coordination of insurance activities across Velora Aviation working at the intersection of risk, operations, and finance to protect the business and strengthen our governance framework.
As Corporate Insurance Manager, you will oversee end-to-end insurance coordination across all Velora Group entities. This includes partnering with our ERM team on risk assessments, supporting strategy and policy placement with brokers, managing renewals and policy reviews, and leading incident and claims coordination. You will be a central liaison across HR, Operations, EHSQ, Finance, Legal, and the Etihad Airways Insurance Department.
Responsibilities
Insurance Coordination, Risk Support & Governance
- Coordinate with ERM to identify and analyse emerging risks across aviation, health, facilities, stock, and logistics
- Maintain and update the insurance risk register across all entities
- Conduct insurance gap reviews limits, deductibles, and exclusions
- Coordinate program design across all policy lines (property, motor, liability, D&O, cyber, medical, life)
- Ensure compliance with UAE insurance guidelines and internal governance processes
Policy Administration & Renewal Support
- Maintain the annual renewal calendar; trigger data requests 90120 days in advance
- Collect renewal data , asset schedules, staff lists, fleet details, revenues from business units
- Review quotations, endorsements, and policy conditions; compile comparison summaries for management
- Coordinate issuance of binders, policies, endorsements, and Certificates of Insurance (COIs)
- Maintain a centralised repository for all policies, endorsements, and documentation
Incident Reporting & Preliminary Investigation
- Manage the incident reporting workflow and ensure timely, accurate logging
- Guide staff on notification requirements and evidence collection
- Support preliminary root cause assessments and coordinate with departments
- Maintain dashboards for incident frequency and trends; support monthly leadership reporting
Claims Coordination & Recovery Support
- Act as first coordination point for claims -notify brokers/insurers, gather documents, track progress
- Compile full claim files including invoices, police reports, medical documents, and site photos
- Track claim status, adjuster appointments, settlement timelines, and recovery status
- Maintain a claims register and provide Finance with recovery and financial impact updates
Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the central coordination point for all internal insurance queries across HR, HSE, Finance, Legal, and Group entities
- Liaise externally with brokers, insurers, and Insurance Department
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare monthly and quarterly dashboards on claims, incidents, renewals, and insurance costs
- Support benchmarking and renewal comparison analyses
- Contribute to loss-prevention initiatives, safety programs, property risk controls
Documentation, Systems & Compliance
- Develop and maintain corporate insurance SOPs and guidelines
- Ensure accuracy of exposure data ,assets, fleet, headcount across all policies
- Maintain sensitive claims and medical data in compliance with privacy standards
- Support internal and external audits with relevant insurance documentation
Qualifications
- CII qualification or equivalent
- 5+ years in general lines of insurance
- Strong knowledge of UAE insurance regulations
- Experience in risk management, policy interpretation & broker negotiations
- Medical/life insurance knowledge is a plus
