Job Description

Job Purpose

To oversee the management of legal affairs related to the organization's corporate aspects, including governance, contracts, compliance, and legal cases, while providing high-level legal advisory services that protect the organization's interests and minimize potential legal risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement legal policies and procedures that ensure compliance with relevant regulations and laws.
  2. Lead the legal affairs team and assign tasks in line with organizational priorities.
  3. Ensure the organization's compliance with local and international laws and regulations relevant to corporate operations.
  4. Provide legal support in drafting internal governance regulations and corporate policies.
  5. Oversee the review and drafting of commercial contracts, tenders, and memoranda of understanding to protect the organization's rights.
  6. Negotiate legal terms when necessary.
  7. Provide legal advisory to senior management and other departments on all legal matters.
  8. Analyze legal risks associated with strategic decisions.
  9. Follow up on cases and lawsuits in which the organization is a party.
  10. Represent the organization or coordinate with external legal advisors and attorneys.
  11. Represent the organization before government and legal authorities.
  12. Prepare official responses to observations or inquiries from regulatory and supervisory bodies.
  13. Prepare periodic legal reports for senior management.
  14. Provide legal recommendations regarding new investments, projects, or expansions.

The role may require tasks and responsibilities not listed above, provided they do not materially differ from the department's objectives and responsibilities.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's in Law (Master's or additional qualification in commercial law or governance preferred).

Required Experience

Minimum 8–10 years in the legal field, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role at a major organization.

Language

English – spoken and written.
