Job Description

The Cost Accountant is responsible for collecting, maintaining, and analyzing comprehensive cost information to support accurate inventory valuation, pricing, and financial reporting. This role involves managing expense databases, maintaining master data for raw materials and semi-finished goods, creating Bills of Materials (BoMs) for finished products, and monitoring cost variances across purchasing, production, and sales processes. The Cost Accountant prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual cost forecasts, supports month-end and year-end closings, and ensures timely updates to raw material prices and BoM lists. By constructing efficient data accumulation systems and providing detailed cost analyses, this position enables informed business decisions and effective financial control.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and maintain comprehensive cost information and manage expense databases, including:
  • Master data for raw materials and semi-finished goods.
  • Bill of Materials (BoM) creation for finished goods.
  • Monthly comparisons of estimated vs. actual costs.
  • Determination of fixed and variable costs for inventory pricing.
  • Monthly inventory value closing for finished products, raw materials, and work-in-progress items.
  • Construct and maintain data accumulation systems for efficient reporting.
  • Manage and process updates in raw material prices and BoM lists.
  • Analyze and report variances in purchase costs, production processes, sales prices, and waste.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost forecasts.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end financial closings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in cost accounting, must be within the food Industry.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Solid understanding of production processes, inventory management, and supply chain principles in the food industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various departments.
