To maintain a competitive advantage as we grow, we are currently looking for a new Cyber Security Defense Analyst

Job Purpose:

The Cyber Security Defense Analyst is the Geidea's first line of defense against cyber threats. This role exists to detect and respond to security incidents in real-time, 24/7, minimizing the impact of cyber attacks before they cause business damage. Without this function, threats would go undetected, response times would increase, and the organization would be exposed to preventable breaches.

Key accountabilities

• Monitor and review security dashboards, alerts, and SIEM systems to identify potential security incidents.
• Investigate and triage alerts by collecting relevant data to determine true positives from false positives
• Escalate incidents to appropriate teams within defined SLAs.
• Maintain operational continuity through structured shift handovers
• Stay current on emerging threats and security trends to continuously improve detection capabilities

Must have qualifications:

• 0-2 years in cybersecurity related role
• Bachelor's in computer science, Information Security, IT, or related field or equivalent work experience
• SIEM platforms, log analysis, and security monitoring tools
• Network, endpoint, and web attack detection techniques
• Security controls and associated log formats
• Threat intelligence and detection methodologies
