Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled and motivated OT Cybersecurity Engineer with 2 to 4 years of experience to secure and enhance the operational technology (OT) environments, including industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA, and other critical infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the protection of OT networks from cyber threats through regular monitoring, patch management, antivirus updates, and adherence to industry-specific cybersecurity standards. The engineer will collaborate with IT and control system teams to identify vulnerabilities, apply security controls, and respond to incidents without impacting operational safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures for OT environments, including DCS, PLC and other industrial control systems (ICS).
- Regularly update antivirus definitions and apply security patches in OT environments, ensuring minimal downtime and secure operations.
- Work closely with control engineers and IT teams to secure OT/ICS networks while maintaining system performance and safety.
- Monitor OT networks for unusual activity, respond to security incidents, and conduct forensic analysis to determine the root cause.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce OT cybersecurity policies and procedures, including secure remote access, patch management, and asset inventory.
- Design and deploy OT security tools such as firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and OT-specific anomaly detection solutions.
- Ensure OT cybersecurity best practices are integrated into system designs, upgrades, and day-to-day operations.
- Support the integration of IT and OT security strategies, focusing on reducing the risk of converged IT/OT environments.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Communication or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in IT or OT cybersecurity,
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards for OT environments such as IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, and ISO 27001.
- Experience with IT/OT security tools, such firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and network monitoring solutions.
- Strong knowledge of network segmentation, zoning concepts (e.g., Purdue Model), and secure remote access in OT environments.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, and vulnerability assessments, in OT/ICS environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience responding to IT/OT security incidents.
- Knowledge of industrial control systems and DCS/SCADA environments and certifications such as CompTIA Security+, or IEC 62443-related certifications are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with automation systems from vendors like Siemens, Schneider, Emerson, or Rockwell Automation.
- Experience with scripting or automation (Python, Bash) for cybersecurity tasks.
- Knowledge of OT system lifecycle management and patching strategies in a production environment.
- Understanding of compliance requirements for critical infrastructure protection, such as NERC CIP or GDPR.
