Job Overview
The Data Center ELV Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, including Building Management System (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS), fire Alarms, Access Control, Public Address and LAN infrastructure. This role involves supervising ELV, BMS, EPMS, and LAN technicians, ensuring system reliability, security, and compliance with operational standards. The engineer will work closely with the Facility Manager to support critical infrastructure and optimize system performance.
Key Responsibilities
- ELV Systems Management
- Oversee operation and maintenance of ELV systems such as access control, CCTV, fire alarm, and structured cabling.
- Ensure proper functioning of BMS and EPMS for monitoring and controlling data center environment and electrical systems.
- Manage LAN infrastructure supporting facility operations and monitoring systems.
- Supervision & Team Leadership
- Lead and supervise ELV, BMS, EPMS, and LAN technicians in daily operations and maintenance tasks.
- Assign work orders, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to safety and security protocols.
- Provide technical guidance and training to technicians.
- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for ELV and monitoring systems.
- Respond to system faults and coordinate corrective actions promptly.
- Compliance & Security
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, company policies, and industry standards for ELV systems.
- Maintain cybersecurity measures for LAN and monitoring systems.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare detailed reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network diagrams, system configurations, and test results.
- Provide monthly and quarterly reports to the Facility Manager on ELV infrastructure status and improvement plans.
- Project Support
- Assist in design, integration, and commissioning of ELV systems for data center expansions or upgrades.
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment procurement and installation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, IT, or related field.
- Minimum 35 years of experience in ELV systems within data centers or critical facilities.
- Strong knowledge of BMS, EPMS, access control, CCTV, fire alarm systems, and LAN infrastructure.
- Familiarity with network protocols and cybersecurity best practices.
- Certifications such as CDCP, CCNA, or equivalent are preferred.
