Position SummaryThe Junior Data Engineer supports the operation and maintenance of the company's game data infrastructure, ensuring data is accurately collected, processed, and delivered for analytics and reporting.
This role focuses on execution excellence and operational reliability, working under the guidance of Senior Data Platform Engineers to ensure the stability and performance of the data platform.
Mission & Objectives- Support the daily operation of game data pipelines and tracking systems.
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability for analytics use cases.
- Build strong foundational knowledge in data engineering within a game environment.

Key Responsibilities1. Data Pipeline Operations
- Assist in maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines from game systems to the data warehouse.
- Monitor data jobs and troubleshoot basic failures or delays.
- Support routine platform maintenance activities.
2. Event Tracking Implementation
- Implement and update game event tracking based on defined specifications.
- Validate event payloads to ensure accurate data capture.
- Collaborate with game engineers to resolve tracking issues.
3. Data Quality & Validation
- Perform regular data quality checks to detect missing, duplicated, or inconsistent data.
- Document and escalate data issues when necessary.
- Help maintain data integrity across dashboards and reports.
4. Analytics & BI Support
- Prepare datasets and tables for analytics and reporting purposes.
- Ensure BI dashboards maintain data freshness and consistency.
- Support analysts with data-related questions and requests.
5. Learning & Development
- Develop understanding of data platform architecture, tracking logic, and analytics workflows.
- Follow engineering best practices and documentation standards.
- Continuously improve technical and problem-solving skills under mentorship.

Required Skills & ExperienceExperience
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related roles.
- Game analytics background is mandatory.
Technical Skills
- Basic proficiency in SQL.
- Understanding of data concepts such as tables, schemas, and ETL processes.
- Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python) is a plus.
- Familiarity with APIs or event-driven systems is an advantage.
