Job Description

Job Title: Data Protection Specialist (Cybersecurity Data Protection Service Engineer - Contractor)

Department: Cybersecurity Data Protection

12 months Renewable Contract

Job Purpose:

Ensure the protection of organizational data throughout its lifecycle by implementing data security controls, monitoring data usage, and supporting the prevention, detection, and response to data-related security incidents. The role focuses on safeguarding sensitive, confidential, and regulated data by applying encryption, data loss prevention (DLP), and secure backup practices in alignment with approved data protection policies and standards. The Data Protection Specialist plays a key role in reducing data-related risks by ensuring that data is accessed, stored, transmitted, and handled securely. The role supports compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements, contributes to audit and assessment activities, and works closely with IT and business teams to embed secure data handling practices into operational processes and systems.

Core Responsibilities:

Implement and manage data protection and PKI and CLM solutions

Monitor Certificate creation, Lifecycle, and usage activities

Configure encryption for data at rest and in transit

Support secure data backup and recovery processes

Apply key ceremony activities and physical security for the encryption systems

Ensure compliance with data protection policies and standards

Maintain documentation related to data security controls

Support audits and regulatory compliance activities

Coordinate with IT and business teams on data protection matters

Qualifications:

Educational:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or Information Systems

Years Of Experience:

  • 3-5 Years

Nature of Experience:

Data security, information protection, or compliance environments

Skills:

Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)

Data encryption methods (at rest and in transit)

Data classification and information lifecycle management

Secure backup and recovery practices

Monitoring data access and data transfer activities

Investigation of data leakage and data breach incidents

Understanding of data protection policies and standards

Risk assessment related to data handling

Compliance and audit support skills

Coordination with business and IT teams on data security
