Role Summary
Ensure enterprise data platforms deliver trusted, traceable, and governed datasets by embedding data quality, lineage, and governance controls across pipelines and analytics layers.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and enforce data contracts including schema validation, nullability, referential integrity, and freshness rules
- Implement row-level and aggregate-level data quality checks within pipelines
- Design reconciliation and consistency validations to prevent data corruption
- Establish dataset SLAs and quality thresholds for controlled data promotion and consumption
- Implement lineage and metadata standards to enable auditability and root cause analysis
- Define semantic standards for governed analytics and AI consumption
- Ensure datasets exposed to analytics tools meet governance and quality requirements
- Design scalable quality enforcement patterns without impacting performance or cost
Secondary Responsibilities
- Optimize placement of validations based on pipeline execution flow
- Integrate data quality controls into CI/CD and workflow orchestration
- Support audit, compliance, and regulatory traceability requirements
- Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to improve overall data trust maturity
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong expertise in data quality frameworks and governance implementation
- Hands-on experience with Unity Catalog, lineage, and metadata management
- Experience embedding data validations in Spark/Databricks pipelines
- Understanding of SLAs, reconciliation patterns, and data contracts
- Exposure to CI/CD integration and production data operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
