Purpose of the Role

We are looking for a Data Scientist with strong analytical and technical skills who is excited to solve real-world business problems using data, advanced analytics and machine learning. In this role, you will contribute to the development and deployment of analytics solutions across a complex, multi-market environment, with a strong focus on route-to-market and commercial effectiveness. You will work closely with other data scientists, data engineers, product teams and business stakeholders to translate business challenges into practical, scalable data-driven solutions deployed across 29 markets. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys working with large datasets, developing machine learning solutions, and collaborating with both technical and business teams to create measurable business impact.

YOUR NEW KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand business challenges and translate them into analytical and data science problems.
• Contribute to the end-to-end development of advanced analytics and machine learning solutions, from data exploration and modelling through testing, deployment and continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement machine learning and statistical models to extract insights, identify patterns, predict outcomes and support data-driven decision making.
• Analyse large and complex datasets to identify opportunities, evaluate hypotheses and improve existing solutions.
• Develop and test proof-of-concept solutions and support their evolution into scalable, production-ready products.
• Work with data engineers, other data scientists and business experts to build robust and maintainable analytical solutions.
• Monitor and evaluate model and solution performance and contribute to their continuous improvement.
• Write clean, efficient and well-structured Python and PySpark code following team development standards and best practices.
• Participate in Agile/SAFe ways of working and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute ideas and analytical approaches that can improve existing solutions or address new business opportunities.

ARE THESE YOUR SECRET INGREDIENTS

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, advanced analytics or a related role.
• Strong proficiency in Python, with practical experience using PySpark for data processing and analytics.
• Good understanding of machine learning, statistical modelling and experimentation, and the ability to apply appropriate techniques to real-world problems.
• Experience working with large datasets, including data preparation, feature engineering, model development and evaluation.
• Familiarity with distributed data processing and cloud-based data platforms; experience with Azure and Databricks is an advantage.
• Experience developing machine learning or analytical solutions beyond one-off analysis, with exposure to production or operational environments considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with curiosity to explore data and understand the underlying business problem.
• Ability to write clear, maintainable and efficient code and follow software development and data science best practices.
• Good collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical concepts and results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, manage assigned priorities and collaborate with colleagues across different functions and markets.
• Experience in CPG, retail or commercial analytics such as customer segmentation, assortment recommendation or sales effectiveness is an advantage.
• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics or another related quantitative field.
