Role Summary: The Data Scientist will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets to generate actionable insights, and support data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Collection & Processing
- Extract, clean, and preprocess structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
- Ensure data integrity, quality, and governance.
- Analytics
- Apply statistical methods to solve business problems.
- Develop algorithms to optimize business processes (e.g., customer record segmentation, duplicate detection, recommendation for efficiency optimisation).
- Visualization & Reporting
- Build dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Translate complex results into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with project implementation teams to understand requirements and deliver data solutions.
- Collaborate with data engineers to expedite data driven conclusions and opportunity areas.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Python/R, SQL, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib).
- Strong knowledge of statistics, probability, and hypothesis testing.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
Business Skills
- Ability to translate data insights into business recommendations.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Publications or project work demonstrating data science applications.
