Job Description:

We are seeking a meticulous Database Administrator (DBA) to serve as the guardian of the TAR platform's brain. In the world of online auctions, data is our most valuable assetand its speed is our competitive advantage. You will be responsible for designing, securing, and optimizing a database environment that can handle lightning-fast bid sequences, thousands of high-resolution vehicle listings, and the intense traffic spikes that occur in the final seconds of a high-stakes auction.

  • Architecture & Schema Design: Architect a high-performance relational database (PostgreSQL/MySQL) capable of handling complex relationships between bidders, assets, and real-time transactions.
  • Performance Tuning: Proactively optimize queries, indexing strategies, and execution plans to ensure sub-millisecond response times during High-Intensity bidding wars.
  • High Availability & Scaling: Implement master-slave replication, clustering, and load balancing to ensure 99.99% uptime. The platform must never go down while an auction is live.
  • Traffic Management: Monitor database health in real-time, specifically during Auction Closings, to prevent bottlenecks or deadlocks when millions of rows are being updated simultaneously.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Manage cloud-native database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Aurora, or Azure SQL) and implement Redis/Memcached layers for rapid data retrieval.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Expertise in RDBMS: 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL (Percona/MariaDB)
  • NoSQL Knowledge: Proficiency in MongoDB or Elasticsearch for handling unstructured data (e.g., activity logs or advanced search filters)
  • Cloud Mastery: Deep experience with AWS (RDS/Aurora/DynamoDB) or Azure database management tools.
  • Scripting Skills: Strong command of SQL and scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automating maintenance tasks and backups.
  • Monitoring Tools: Experience with Datadog, New Relic, or Prometheus for real-time performance tracking.
  • Experience working on Automotive online applications or Auction platforms.
