The Developer DBA will spend most of their time working in the space of managing databases and database servers ensuring database health, availability, security and backups etc as well as developing and supporting SSIS packages, ADF pipelines, SSRS and Power BI reports/dashboards,
We are looking for an experienced Developer DBA who has multi-vendor management databases administration and design experience as well as extensive experience with Azure cloud databases. We have MS SQL servers, Azure SQL databases, Azure Cosmos databases, multiple SSIS packages, ADF/Fabric pipelines, Power BI dashboards, multiple ETL packages with diverse data sources and are looking for someone with experience in most of the above (if not all).

Core Responsibilities
The Developer DBA is primarily responsible for:
- Understanding business needs and designing and building solutions that meet those needs. Capable of designing and defending a solution.
- Managing and maintaining SQL Servers, Azure SQL databases, Azure Cosmos Databases
- Developing, Managing and maintaining SSIS packages, ADF/Fabric pipelines.
- BAU support for all SQL and NoSQL servers/databases including patching.
- Work closely with development, infrastructure, DevOps and client solutions and endeavour to provide best services.
- Support in building resilient, reliable, secure and cost-effective solutions.
- Staying ahead of issues with proactive monitoring and alerting.
- Implementing best practices.
Role Requirements
- Strong experience as MS SQL, Azure SQL and Cosmos DBs database administrator.
- End-to-end knowledge from databases architecture to implementation, deployment and administration.
- 3-5 years of experience in developing, implementing and supporting SSIS packages involving scripting tasks.
- Experience in Azure cloud data technologies including Azure SQL database, Azure SQL managed instance and Azure Cosmos DB.
- 3-5 years of experience in developing, implementing and supporting ADF/Fabric pipelines.
- 3-5 years of experience in developing, implementing and supporting SSRS reports/dashboards.
- 3-5 years of experience in developing, implementing and supporting Power BI dashboards and reports.
- In depth experience and knowledge of Power BI architecture, components and troubleshooting.
- Strong experience and knowledge of Python.
- Experience of using GitHub or similar repositories collaboration and version controls.
- Maintain technical documentation and source control related to project design and implementation.
- Monitor performance of database systems resources and query throughput.
- Optimize Code/scripts as necessary, monitor and maintain databases at database and OS level.
- Monitor and maintain databases to have up to date backups as per company SLAs.
- Nice to have knowledge of DevOps repositories, CI/CD pipelines.
- Expert in writing TSQL queries, functions, stored procedures, views etc.
- Experience with Azure AI Foundry will be beneficial.
- Some knowledge of .Net/C# required.
- Azure/SQL/NoSQL or other database certification desirable.
- Participation in On-Call rotations or Shift work as required by specific role or assignment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Comfortable working with staff at all levels.
- Ability to self-organise, prioritise and track tasks.
- Can work on their own or as part of a team.
