The Database Engineer will manage and support our Oracle E-Business Suite applications, middleware infrastructure, and associated database tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Oracle EBS R12.x, WebLogic middleware administration, and foundational Oracle DBA activities. This role is critical for maintaining high system availability, performance, and security of our ERP and middleware environments.
Responsibilities:
Oracle EBS Administration
- Install, configure, upgrade, clone, and patch Oracle E-Business Suite R12.x
- Manage and monitor concurrent managers, workflow services, and application logs
- Handle EBS patch analysis and conflict resolution using tools like ADOP and Opatch
- Support EBS security management, including user/role configuration and authentication integration (SSO, OID, etc.)
- Perform environment refreshes, cloning, and routine health checks
- Coordinate with Oracle Support (SRs) for issue resolution
WebLogic Middleware Administration
- Install, configure, and manage Oracle WebLogic Server (10.x/12c)
- Deploy and troubleshoot Java applications, Forms/Reports services, and SOA/BPM components
- Monitor and tune WebLogic performance (JVM, threads, garbage collection, etc.)
- Manage WebLogic domains, clusters, and managed servers
- Apply patches and maintain WebLogic and Fusion Middleware environments
Basic Oracle DBA Tasks
- Perform daily health checks of Oracle databases (12c/19c)
- User management, space management, and basic performance tuning
- Backup and restore using RMAN
- Monitor alert logs, AWR/ADDM reports, and take proactive actions
- Work with the DBA team for coordinated tasks like cloning and migrations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in: Oracle WebLogic Server Administration, Oracle E-Business Suite R12.x Administration, Basic Oracle Database Administration
- Good understanding of Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting
- Strong knowledge of Oracle application and database patching techniques
- Familiarity with FMW components (Forms/Reports, OHS, SOA)
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or AWS RDS/EC2 for Oracle
- Knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and performance tuning tools
- Exposure to automation tools (Ansible, Terraform) for deployments
- Experience with SSL/TLS configuration, certificates management
- Understanding of ITIL processes, ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow), and change management
