JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
Maintain and monitor the existing Distributed Control System (DCS), Safety Instrumented System (SIS), and Fire and Gas networks; and identify, report, and/or resolve any issues in a timely manner to ensure proper functioning of these systems.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Control Systems Maintenance and Reporting
- Monitor the existing control system, SIS, and F&G networks to identify and resolve any issues and ensure system reliability.
- Carry out SIS set-point changes, DCS graphics changes, and other minor configuration changes in order to ensure ease of use to the end users.
- Execute Partial Stroke Testing (PST) of SIS to identify and resolve any issues.
- Analyse alarm management reports and carry out control loops tuning and other related activities to ensure smooth and error-free functioning of these subsystems.
- Report any anomalies to DCS Engineer or Supervisor in order to ensure any required decisions can be made in a timely manner.
- Carry out systems MS patching, antivirus update, Network monitoring, systems backup, monitoring firewall and domain controllers.
Assistance to Maintenance and Operations Staff
- Provide assistance to maintenance staff/operation staff on control problems and system problems in order to help them resolve these problems.

- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices in order to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
- Implement all relevant policies, processes, procedures and instructions of Project Engineering Section so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Quality, Health, Security, Safety and Environment
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across Instrument and Electrical Section to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high-quality products/services.
Reporting
- Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet departmental requirements, policies and standards.
Qatarization
Contribute to the development of Qatari employees. This accountability is applicable to expatriate employees only.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
Required : 3-year Diploma in Instrumentation / IT.
Preferred : Experience in Petrochemicals Industry.
Experience
Required: Total of 3-5 years of experience in the O&G Industry, out of which 2 years at an Analyst level.
Preferred: Experience in Petrochemicals Industry.
Other Job Specific Requirements and/or Vocational Accreditations:
- In-depth understanding of control system engineering and network protocols
- Hands-on experience of working with PLC, DCS, and ESD systems.
Languages
Required: English- proficient
Preferred: Arabic- working knowledge
