The Dean of Education is a senior academic leadership role responsible for providing strategic direction, academic oversight, and vision for education and teacher preparation programmes. The role ensures academic excellence, innovation in pedagogy, regulatory compliance, and the development of high-quality programmes aligned with institutional strategy and educational best practice.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic academic leadership for all education programmes and related disciplines
Lead curriculum design, review, and continuous improvement across undergraduate and postgraduate offerings
Ensure academic quality, integrity, and excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment
Foster a strong culture of research, scholarship, and evidence-based practice in education
Lead, mentor, and develop academic staff, including performance management and succession planning
Oversee accreditation, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance processes
Collaborate with internal leaders to align faculty priorities with institutional strategy
Build partnerships with schools, education providers, professional bodies, and external stakeholders
Represent the faculty in academic, professional, and community forums
Manage faculty resources, budgets, and staffing in line with strategic objectives
Champion student success, wellbeing, inclusion, and graduate outcomes
Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, or equivalent) in Education or a closely related discipline
Significant senior academic leadership experience within higher education
Proven experience in programme leadership, curriculum development, and academic governance
Established research and publication profile relevant to education or teacher development
Demonstrated success in faculty leadership, mentoring, and team development
Experience leading accreditation, quality assurance, or regulatory review processes
Strong strategic planning, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience working in complex or multi-campus academic environments is an advantage
