About the Role Deputy Chief Procurement Officer
The Deputy Chief Procurement Officer (DCPO) is responsible for supporting the Chief Procurement Officer in overseeing the end-to-end procurement function across the organization. This role combines strategic oversight with operational management to ensure procurement processes are efficient, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with business objectives. The DCPO will lead procurement teams, manage key vendor relationships, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in defining and implementing the overall procurement strategy aligned with business goals
- Oversee end-to-end procurement operations for corporate and project requirements
- Manage procurement teams, set performance objectives, and ensure adherence to processes
- Develop and maintain strategic vendor relationships, including negotiation of key contracts and service-level agreements
- Ensure timely sourcing of materials, services, and office/corporate needs with a focus on cost optimization
- Monitor procurement budgets and drive initiatives for cost savings and efficiency improvements
- Implement and enforce procurement policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Maintain robust documentation and audit trails for all procurement activities
- Track market trends, supplier performance, and emerging sourcing opportunities
- Support digital transformation initiatives in procurement, including ERP systems and process automation
- Collaborate with project, finance, and operations teams to forecast needs and optimize procurement plans
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 1015 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Experience in real estate, construction, or large-scale project procurement preferred
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation
- Hands-on experience with ERP procurement systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
- UAE / GCC experience highly preferred
