Job Description
Leadership and Management
- Support and actively promote the school's vision, ethos, and strategic direction.
- Contribute to the implementation and evaluation of the School Development Plan within your area of responsibility.
- Assist, support, and deputise for the Head of School when required.
- Ensure inclusive practices are embedded across the curriculum and pastoral provision.
- Translate school policies into effective practice and identify areas for review or improvement, reporting to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
- Lead aspects of the school self-evaluation process, including lesson observations, monitoring standards, and driving improvement.
- Contribute to the development of self-evaluation and policy documentation.
- Manage pupil transition effectively within and between phases.
- Promote and develop cross-curricular teaching and learning approaches.
- Act as a proactive and effective member of the leadership team.
- Model outstanding teaching, behaviour management, and professional conduct.
Teaching And Learning Responsibilities
- Fulfil all responsibilities of a class teacher to a high standard.
- Lead key school priorities and contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives.
- Take responsibility for curriculum design and delivery, ensuring continuity, progression, balance, and challenge.
- Lead and facilitate regular meetings with relevant staff.
- Develop and promote high-quality teaching strategies suitable for a full range of ages and abilities.
Monitoring and Assessment
- Work with SLT to analyse data, monitor student progress, and inform planning and target setting.
- Monitor standards through work scrutiny, lesson observations, and quality assurance processes.
- Review long- and medium-term planning to ensure consistency and high standards.
Resource Management
- Plan, organise, and evaluate programmes within your area of responsibility.
- Monitor and evaluate the effective use of resources to maximise impact on learning.
Staff Development
- Contribute to staff appraisal processes as a reviewer where appropriate.
- Identify training needs and support professional development within your team.
- Act as a mentor or coach, promoting collaboration and teamwork.
- Stay informed about current developments and share best practice with colleagues.
