The Deputy Planning Manager is responsible for supporting the Planning Manager in developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules for large-scale projects.
Responsibilities
Project Scheduling & Planning
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools.
- Prepare short-term and long-term planning for project activities.
- Update schedules based on project progress and changes in scope.
Progress Monitoring & Variance Analysis
- Track project progress against approved schedules.
- Analyze delays and deviations, identifying root causes.
- Recommend corrective actions to mitigate delays and optimize performance.
Reporting & Performance Analysis
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for senior management.
- Provide dashboards and KPI analysis to support decision-making.
- Assist in forecasting project completion dates and critical path updates.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with project teams including engineering, procurement, and construction.
- Ensure timely delivery of resources and materials in line with project schedules.
- Communicate schedule requirements and updates to all stakeholders.
Risk Management & Contingency Planning

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related field
- Professional certification in Project Planning (PMP, PSP, or equivalent) is preferred
- 8–12 years of experience in project planning and scheduling for large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of project control processes and critical path analysis
- Experience in progress monitoring, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Understanding of project management, contracts, and resource allocation
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent reporting and presentation skills
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities
