The Dermatologist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases and conditions of the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes. The role includes medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services, ensuring high-quality patient care in accordance with clinical best practices and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Diagnose and treat skin, hair, and nail disorders (e.g., acne, eczema, psoriasis, infections)
- Manage chronic and acute dermatological conditions
- Perform dermatological procedures such as biopsies, cryotherapy, excisions, and electrosurgery
- Diagnose and manage skin cancers and pre-cancerous lesions
- Prescribe and monitor appropriate medications and treatment plans
Cosmetic & Aesthetic Dermatology(if applicable)
- Perform aesthetic procedures such as Botox, dermal fillers, chemical peels, and laser treatments
- Provide anti-aging and skin rejuvenation treatments
- Counsel patients on cosmetic options, risks, and outcomes
Patient Care & Education
- Conduct detailed patient consultations and skin examinations
- Educate patients on skin care, disease prevention, and treatment compliance
- Maintain patient confidentiality and informed consent
Administrative & Professional Duties
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Collaborate with nurses, laser technicians, and other specialists
- Follow hospital/clinic policies, infection control standards, and ethical guidelines
- Participate in continuing medical education (CME) and professional development
- Contribute to quality improvement and clinical audit activities
Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
- Specialization in Dermatology
- Board certification (e.g., Arab Board, MD, DNB, or equivalent)
- Relevant clinical experience as required for Specialist or Consultant level
