Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure Consultants and Designers clearly understand the Development Brief(s) and project requirements.
  • Verify alignment between the Development Brief, project requirements, and applicable governmental/local authority regulations.
  • Provide technical support and required studies to the Project Management team.
  • Prepare and issue RFPs for Design Consultants and specialized consultants for each project.
  • Establish design deliverables and schedules with appointed Design Consultants and monitor adherence to approved programs.
  • Develop and finalize the Project Design Management Plan (PDMP).
  • Participate actively in the selection, evaluation, and contracting of Design Consultants.
  • Oversee the performance of Technical Department team members and Design Consultants to ensure design accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project scope.
  • Review, evaluate, and recommend approval of variation orders and change requests submitted by Design Consultants prior to Project Manager approval.
  • Manage the review process for all drawings and documentation submitted by Design Consultants and ensure incorporation of required revisions.
  • Oversee the preparation, submission, and acquisition of all necessary planning and authority approvals.
  • Review monthly and periodic reports submitted by Design Consultants, including weekly Areas of Concern reports and corrective action plans.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of Design Stage Reports to secure required Design Stage Gateway Approvals.
  • Lead and facilitate coordination meetings with Design Consultants, sub-consultants, and the Project Manager to review designs, resolve technical matters, and track progress.
  • Ensure implementation of a structured Value Engineering and constructability review process throughout the design lifecycle. Propose alternative materials and systems to enhance functionality and optimize construction and lifecycle costs.
  • Ensure the design team provides comprehensive support to other departments
  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in architecture (Master's degree preferred).
    • Minimum of 8 years experience in Design, Consultancy, Construction, or Real Estate development.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and AutoCAD (ACAD)
