Job Purpose
- To supervise and coordinate the design and drafting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems by ensuring the accurate preparation of engineering drawings, technical layouts, and authority submission packages.
- The Design Supervisor oversees the design process from site assessment through construction documentation and as-built drawings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, engineering standards, and project specifications while supporting effective project execution.

Design Supervisor
Design Supervision & Coordination
- Supervise and coordinate the preparation of solar PV design drawings and technical documentation.
- Review and validate design outputs to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with engineering standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to drafting and design team members.
Site Assessment & Design Inputs
- Oversee site survey activities to ensure accurate measurements and documentation of site conditions.
- Review site data to support optimal PV system layouts and equipment placement.
- Evaluate shading conditions, infrastructure constraints, and cable routing requirements.
Authority Submission & Compliance
- Supervise the preparation of design packages for authority approvals (e.g., DEWA DRRG submissions).
- Review and approve drawings, including solar panel layouts, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), wiring layouts, and electrical panel modifications
- Ensure all submissions comply with regulatory requirements and technical standards.
Engineering Coordination
- Collaborate with design managers, project managers, and site teams to align designs with project requirements.
- Provide technical clarification and design support during project execution when required.
Construction Documentation & Procurement Support
- Ensure preparation and issuance of Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings.
- Review and validate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for project procurement and cost estimation.
Project Documentation & Close-Out
- Ensure preparation of accurate As-Built drawings reflecting final installation.
- Maintain proper documentation of project drawings and design records for project handover.

- Ensure whoever handles sensitive company information have taken the Security Awareness Training
- Know how to report a security incident (to IT ServiceDesk or InfoSec).
- Not Disable his/her OS firewall and/or Antivirus
- Restrict use to authorized purposes, Protect access accounts, privileges and associated passwords.
- Accept accountability of his/her individual user accounts, and maintain confidentiality
Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical discipline.
- Professional training or certification in Solar PV system design or renewable energy technologies is an advantage.
Competencies and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of solar photovoltaic (PV) system design and layout development for commercial and industrial projects.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD for preparing technical drawings and design documentation.
- Familiarity with solar design and modelling tools such as SketchUp and PVsyst is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of authority regulations and approval processes related to solar PV installations.
- Strong technical review, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Effective team coordination and supervision abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
High level of attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Experience and Skills:
Industry Experience (No. of years):
- Minimum 57 years of experience in solar photovoltaic (PV) design, engineering, or drafting within the renewable energy sector
Position/functional experience (No. of years):
- Minimum 23 years of experience in a senior or supervisory role managing solar PV design documentation and authority submissions.
