ROLE OVERVIEW
ITP Luxury, part of ITP Media Group, is looking for a digitally fluent writer to join our audience team. This role combines fast-paced news writing, insightful features, SEO-driven content refreshes, and trend-led storytelling. You will work closely with our audience, data, and editorial teams to turn real-time signals, trend alerts, and content opportunities into sharp, high-impact stories across platforms.
The ideal candidate is as comfortable reacting to breaking news as they are crafting long-form explainers, updating evergreen content, or optimizing headlines for search and social. You should be reader-obsessed, data-literate, and confident writing for multiple formats and audiences.
Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Respond to real-time alerts, trend spikes, and opportunity signals surfaced by StoryCue and other analytics tools.
- Produce fast, accurate news stories that reflect brand tone and editorial standards.
- Track search trends, competitor coverage, and social conversations to identify timely angles.
- Develop mid-length and long-form features informed by audience demand, industry insights, and emerging trends.
- Turn data insights into clear, engaging narratives, explainers, and issue-led features.
- Pitch relevant, high-impact ideas based on gaps or opportunities revealed in competitor activity.
- Refresh and optimize evergreen content, improving clarity, structure, accuracy, and relevance.
- Optimize headlines, metadata, URLs, and internal linking to maximize visibility across Google Search and Google News.
- Update seasonal or cyclical coverage in line with audience behavior and editorial priorities.
- Produce backgrounders and pre-prepared content ahead of key events, announcements, and seasonal cycles flagged by StoryCue or the editorial team.
- Contribute to weekly and monthly editorial calendars with clear, data-informed planning.
- Tailor story angles to platform algorithms, audience behavior, and channel-specific tone.
- Work closely with social editors to ensure stories perform strongly across platforms.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 25 years of experience in digital journalism, publishing, or content writing.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills across news, features, and explainers.
- Ability to interpret and understand analytics (Google Analytics, Story cue, social insights, trends tools) to guide content decisions.
- Experience repackaging and refreshing evergreen content.
- Ability to write for different platforms and tones (Google, LinkedIn, IG, TikTok, newsletters).
- Experience using AI-assisted editorial or trend-tracking tools (e.g., Story cue).
- Background in business, policy, culture, technology, entertainment, or lifestyle journalism.
- Familiarity with editorial calendars and long-lead planning.
