How You Will Contribute:
We require a highly motivated and talented Sales & Country Leader (SCL) who can demonstrate a strong track record in market development, implementing ambitious strategies, exceeding objectives and building long term profitable growth. The individual will be:

Proven sales expertise you know how to readily identify new business opportunities, close the deal and effectively manage regional, large and strategic accounts.

Agility you are readily able to manage competing and ever-changing account priorities and maintain a balanced and methodical approach to problem solving.
Business acumen you will have detailed knowledge of Ciena s products, the competitive landscape and an in-depth understanding of sales cycle and stage requirements.
Communication expertise you can effectively tailor a message/articulate a value proposition to an audience to enable engagement at all levels of an organization, i.e., able to communicate a good blend of technology/networking trends, as well as an understanding of customer priorities and business outcome objectives as well as the business value of Ciena solutions.
The ability to influence you re capable of working with internal stakeholders to drive decision-making and strategic thinking, and with external stakeholders to influence the adoption of Ciena solutions.

The Must Haves:
Strong leadership and people management skills, with proven experience managing teams and the ability to define and execute a plan that will deliver at least the expected incremental order growth for Ciena (year-on-year) in Saudi Arabia.
A deep appreciation of working in Saudi Arabia.
A deep understanding and experience- in working with national and international Licensed Telco s, GCN s and the Subsea Network market, of the solutions appropriate to different markets and the ability to articulate a transformation message and of how market dynamics are driving change and exponential growth for Regional Service Providers and the wider Eco-System. (For example, the accelerated deployment of Hyperscale networks and data centres, the evolving regulatory framework and the expansion across borders and interconnection to submarine cable systems)
An understanding (and experience) of working with STC at the National and International level.
An ability to develop C-level relationships with all industry participants up to Regulator and Ministry level and to constantly work in a disciplined Quarterly reporting environment.
An understanding of Ciena Portfolio (Optical, Routing & Switching, Software and Value-Added Services) and to discuss it with industry participants at an any level
Assets:
MBA and/or advanced technical degree.
Proven understanding of markets, including market segmentation and service providers.
Demonstrated understanding of regional and/ or major account sales and ability to think strategically about new business opportunities, coupled with the ability to make sound and tough judgment calls.
Keen awareness of market intelligence with respect to competitors in India and globally.
Results-oriented, collaborative, creative, and transparent in internal engagement and support matrix models.
Ability to prioritize, organize and operate in a fast moving, aggressive environment- Able to confidently predict a doubling of the current order booking, revenue and, profitability within 3 years. Driving booking and revenue performance from $25M to in excess of $50M.
Have existing respected relationships that could accelerate regional growth.
Highly motivated, ability to handle many competing priorities within multiple accounts- Fully committed to Ciena s Corporate Objectives and corporate Policies
Budgetary assessment and planning experience to enable succinct forecasting at weekly. monthly and quarterly intervals as required
Management and leadership skills to drive activities to achieve business objectives
Willingness to travel frequently
