Job Description
The Director / AI Core Network Development is responsible for designing, optimizing, and enabling data center infrastructure to support AI initiatives across the UAE. The role focuses on ensuring data centers are AI-ready from a facility perspective, with robust connectivity and cabling solutions that deliver efficiency, scalability, and reliability. This position collaborates with stakeholders to ensure infrastructure meets business and technical requirements for AI workloads, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and optimization of data center facilities to support AI-driven applications, with a primary focus on advanced connectivity, cabling, power distribution, and cooling systems.
- Develop infrastructure layouts and technical drawings for electrical, mechanical, IT, and network systems, ensuring readiness for AI workloads and future scalability.
- Plan and implement high-performance connectivity and cable management solutions to enable secure, scalable, and AI-ready data centers.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure facility designs align with business objectives and technical requirements for AI initiatives.
- Manage end-to-end project delivery, from conception to implementation, for new construction, alterations, and redevelopments of data center facilities.
- Review and forecast upcoming projects, maintaining records and ensuring alignment with core project control teams.
- Submit business requirements documents (BRDs) and coordinate API implementations for new or enhanced use cases, supporting AI and data center operations.
- Prepare dashboards and reports on project progress, facility readiness, and infrastructure enhancements for management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to confirm space, power, cooling, and cabling requirements for AI-related projects.
- Coordinate with Facility Development teams to ensure site and floor readiness for AI data center deployments.
- Plan, manage, and ensure timely delivery of facility projects to the highest standards of quality, supporting AI initiatives and operational excellence.
- Stay abreast of new technologies, systems, and developments related to core network, AI, cloud, and data center infrastructure; participate in relevant training for skill enhancement.
Qualifications
- 6-8 years in a similar role, with demonstrated experience in data center facility design and optimization.
- Strong knowledge of system architecture, operating systems, and networking, with expertise in installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Proven ability to design and implement advanced connectivity and cabling solutions for data centers supporting AI workloads.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and effectively communicating technical information.
- Strong understanding of network topology related to core services and AI applications.
- Deep knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, cabling, and uninterruptible power supply.
- Familiarity with power and cooling terminologies and industry standards.
