Job Purpose

  • To lead the provision of the architecture and design teams in order to create value for Red Sea Global (RSG) projects.
  • To set and maintain design and architecture guidelines for new projects, ensuring RSG standards and specifications in execution are met by service providers, consultants and contractors, contributing to the overall profitability of the company.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Contribution

  • Direct the implementation of the annual business plan and targets and implement the strategic agenda of the Architecture function to deliver RSG vision and mission
  • Ensure that the strategy is translated into operational business plans for the Architecture function and monitor the performance and execution of those plans in order to achieve functional objectives and deliver the company's strategy.

Leadership

  • Direct the activities of the Architecture team to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with the strategic project management plans, policies and procedures.
  • Build and lead a motivated, engaged and competent team, by setting priorities and objectives, managing performance, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching to meet the functional challenges and goals.
  • Serve as a role model to ensure employees awareness and commitment to RSG vision, mission, values, fundamentals and corporate strategy to establish a highly engaged and motivated human resources, and continuously improve performance.

Budget

  • Lead the preparation of the functional budget for the Architecture function and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.

Functional

Architecture Operations

  • Coordinate and oversee the preparation and development of schematic diagrams in order to provide a general view of the architectural components and the scale of the project, following preceding detailed discussions and to facilitate the service provider/ consultant selection.
  • Ensure transparent service provider/ consultant selection processes to identify capable and cost-efficient suppliers, in line with RSG standards.
  • Oversee and ensure detailed feedback is provided on consultant and service provider documentation at all stages of the project from initial concept to construction documentation, in order to ensure projects are compliant with the RSG's standards and overall objectives.
  • Implement rigorous and effective value engineering and scope management techniques to achieve the forecast budgets and required project hurdle rates without loss of quality and design intent.
  • Commence, manage and conclude all design phases through coordinating architecture, MEP, structural, and Landscape work in a timely and effective manner as per RSG's policies and procedures and project-specific approvals from management.
  • Report on project status and design progress to senior management, particularly concerning monitoring of cost.
  • Monitor the progress and completion of projects through their development lifecycle to ensure design integrity is maintained throughout the project.
  • Ensure that all necessary work permits are in place in accordance with prevailing laws and regulation before the commencement of work on projects in coordination with RSG concerned parties and local authorities.

Organizational

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

  • Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies and standards.

Safety, Quality and Environment

  • Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of the department's systems, processes and practices considering international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Job Requirements - Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or any related field
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with 4 years in a managerial position
  • Hotel Execution experience is preferred
  • Communication skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Negotiation

Job Context

  • Architecture Director will be based in RSG HQ and/or the project site, and will conduct site visits and business trips as needed
