About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Development to lead large-scale real estate development projects from inception through to completion. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the full development lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will play a pivotal role in identifying new development opportunities, managing key stakeholder relationships, and driving strategic growth initiatives across a diverse portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the entire development lifecycle, from feasibility and site selection to project delivery.
- Identify and evaluate development opportunities, conducting detailed due diligence and risk assessments.
- Manage entitlements, zoning, permits, and regulatory approvals.
- Develop comprehensive project briefs to guide design, delivery, and operational objectives.
- Oversee design development in collaboration with architects, engineers, and consultants.
- Manage construction phases, ensuring quality, timeline, and budget adherence.
- Develop and control project budgets, financial models, and reporting processes.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard project performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, lenders, government authorities, and other key stakeholders.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions.
- Lead and inspire cross-functional teams, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
- Drive special projects and strategic initiatives as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Town Planning, Urban Design, Real Estate, Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 15 years experience in real estate development, with 5+ years Middle East experience
- Proven track record delivering complex, large-scale development projects.
- Strong understanding of development processes including site selection, entitlements, design, construction, finance, and risk management.
- Solid expertise in real estate finance, budgeting, and financial analysis.
