As one of the most anticipated openings in the region, the property will set new benchmarks for personalised service, refined experiences, and operational excellence.

As part of the iconic Ritz-Carlton brand, renowned worldwide for its legendary service and attention to detail, this is an opportunity to join a hotel that will define luxury hospitality in one of the Kingdom's most significant destinations.

We are seeking an accomplished Director of Engineering to lead the stewardship, protection, and performance of the hotel's physical assets while ensuring a seamless environment that enables extraordinary guest experiences.

About The Role

The Director of Engineering is a key member of the hotel leadership team, responsible for overseeing all engineering, maintenance, facilities management, and asset protection functions across the property.

This role combines strategic leadership with technical expertise, ensuring the physical plant operates to the highest standards of safety, reliability, sustainability, and luxury. From preventative maintenance and energy conservation to major capital projects and regulatory compliance, the Director of Engineering plays a critical role in safeguarding the guest experience while enhancing the long-term value of the asset.

The successful candidate will lead a high-performing engineering team, drive operational efficiencies, manage significant budgets, and serve as the hotel's lead authority for facilities, life safety systems, and emergency response.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring the highest standards of reliability, safety, and operational excellence across the property.
  • Develop and execute an engineering strategy aligned with hotel objectives, brand standards, and owner priorities.
  • Manage departmental budgets, capital expenditure projects, and long-term asset protection plans to maximise financial performance.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programmes for all building systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Champion sustainability and energy conservation initiatives that enhance efficiency while supporting luxury guest experiences.
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, health, safety, environmental, and life safety requirements.
  • Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing engineering team through coaching, development, recognition, and succession planning.
  • Establish strong relationships with ownership representatives, contractors, consultants, and regional engineering leaders to ensure successful project delivery and asset stewardship.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a decisive and highly respected engineering leader with a passion for excellence and a deep understanding of the role engineering plays in luxury hospitality.

You will bring:

  • Proven leadership experience within luxury hotels, resorts, mixed-use developments, or complex hospitality environments.
  • Strong technical expertise across engineering operations, facilities management, preventative maintenance, and asset lifecycle planning.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets, capital projects, service contracts, and operational efficiencies.
  • A commitment to creating safe, sustainable, and exceptional environments for both guests and associates.
  • Experience leading emergency preparedness and life safety programmes within large-scale facilities.
  • Technical qualifications in Engineering, Building Services, Construction, Mechanics, or a related discipline, supported by relevant hospitality or facilities management experience.
