Job Overview
The Finance & Operations Director will lead day-to-day financial management, operational control, and internal execution across the group and its SPVs. This is a highly hands-on role focused on translating strategy into strong financial discipline, operational visibility, and execution in a fast-growing, founder-led environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Control
- Manage day-to-day financial operations across the holding company and SPVs.
- Oversee accounting, bookkeeping, and monthly financial closings.
- Ensure accurate IFRS-compliant financial statements and management accounts.
- Maintain clear separation between HoldCo and SPV financials.
- Track and manage shareholder loans, intercompany balances, and accruals.
- Support audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
Cash Flow, Treasury & Payments
- Own short- and medium-term cash flow forecasting.
- Manage bank accounts, payment approvals, and liquidity planning.
- Monitor receivables, payables, and collections (including legacy EPC receivables).
- Track debt service obligations and support lender reporting.
- Support FX tracking and exposure monitoring.
Operational Oversight & Internal Execution
- Act as the central coordination point between finance, projects, legal, and management.
- Track operational budgets across projects and departments.
- Monitor OPEX, CAPEX, and cost control across operating assets.
- Support asset management functions including O&M cost tracking and performance reporting.
- Ensure operational follow-up on management and board decisions.
Project Support & Commercial Execution
Support project teams on:
- Budget tracking
- Financial inputs to feasibility studies
- Cost and cash flow assumptions
Assist in preparing financial data for:
- Lenders
- Investors
- Partners
- Track financial milestones for development and operating projects.
Systems, Processes & Governance
- Implement and maintain financial systems, reporting templates, and dashboards.
- Support ERP selection and rollout.
- Establish SOPs for finance, payments, approvals, and reporting.
- Ensure document control, data room organization, and audit readiness.
- Coordinate with legal and compliance on contracts, invoices, and documentation.
Team Management & Coordination
- Manage and develop the finance and administrative team.
Coordinate closely with:
- Corporate Development
- Legal
- Technical / Project teams
- Support onboarding of the CFO and transition of responsibilities as the finance function scales.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Engineering
- MBA or CFA is preferred
- 1015 years of experience in finance or accounting
- Proven experience in infrastructure, energy, water, industrial, or sustainable development sectors
Strong experience in:
- Financial control
- Cash management
- Budgeting and reporting
- Exposure to project-based businesses (energy, infrastructure, EPC, industrials) is highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of IFRS and financial controls.
- Experience working with auditors, banks, and external advisors.
- Highly organized and execution-oriented.
- Strong attention to detail and a control mindset.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Ability to bridge finance and operations.
- Clear communicator with strong follow-through.
