Director, Operations Excellence (Medical Device Manufacturing)

Our client is one of the leading players in the medical devices manufacturing sector. Due to business needs, they are now recruiting a Director, Operations Excellence to be part of their team, in hopes of developing the current high performing team and ongoing transformation projects. They are located in the East.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the overall manufacturing and business operations to achieve operational, financial, and strategic objectives.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, efficiency, and profitability.
• Oversee manufacturing operations to ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Planning teams to drive operational excellence and resolve business challenges.
• Optimize production planning, resource utilization, inventory, workflow, and manufacturing capacity to improve operational performance.
• Monitor operational KPIs, analyse business performance, and implement corrective actions to improve productivity, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing, automation, digitalisation, and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen operational capabilities and business competitiveness.
• Manage operational budgets, manufacturing costs, and resource planning to achieve financial targets and sustainable business growth.
• Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and continuous improvement culture.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders, while providing regular operational updates and strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Perform ad-hoc initiative project as assigned when required.

Job Requirements:

• Min Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Min 8 to 10 years of experience in operation excellence within medical devices sector, including 5 years in a senior leadership or management role.
• Proven experience leading manufacturing operations, operational strategy, and cross-functional teams.
• Good understanding of quality management systems and regulated manufacturing environments (e.g. ISO 13485, GMP, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, production planning, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Good communication skills
