Director/Senior Manager, Enterprise Financial Risk - Premier Insurer

Our client is a premier insurer with a strong market presence in Singapore. It is seeking to hire a Director/Senior Manager, Enterprise Financial Risk.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Risk, you will lead the firm's financial risk function, providing independent oversight across insurance risk, market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk and capital management. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the financial risk framework, including risk appetite, risk indicators, risk limits, risk monitoring and reporting while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives.

You will oversee the development and governance of financial risk models, including stress testing, Asset-Liability Management (ALM), capital management and scenario analysis models. In addition, you will provide independent challenge on strategic initiatives, including investment activities, product development, capital management and key business decisions.

You will work closely with stakeholders across business functions to support business strategic decisions while regularly presenting financial risk insights and recommendations to senior management, Board committees and regulators.

Requirements

• You possess at least 12 years of experience in financial risk, actuarial, investment risk, capital management or a related discipline within the insurance or broader financial services industry.
• You have strong technical knowledge of insurance, market, credit and liquidity risks, together with hands-on experience in stress testing, Asset-Liability Management (ALM), stochastic modelling and regulatory capital frameworks such as MAS RBC2.
• You have demonstrated experience establishing or enhancing financial risk management frameworks, including risk appetite, risk limits, monitoring and governance.
• You are a proven people leader with the ability to develop high-performing technical teams while influencing senior stakeholders and Board-level audiences.
• A degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Risk Management or a related quantitative discipline is required. Professional qualifications such as FRM, CFA or actuarial credentials will be advantageous.
