We are supporting a large, government-linked education organization responsible for shaping and driving system-level K-12 strategy across schools, programmes, and delivery partners.
About the Role
This role sits close to senior leadership and key government stakeholders and focuses on K-12 system design, prioritization, and execution enablement. The Director will own K-12 strategy end-to-end, from setting strategic direction and prioritizing initiatives, through to enabling delivery and impact at scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and refresh of system-level K-12 strategy, aligned to national education priorities and long-term outcomes
- Translate strategic objectives into clear priority initiatives, roadmaps, and delivery plans across the K-12 ecosystem
- Evaluate, prioritise, and sequence K-12 programmes and reforms to maximise system impact
- Develop strategic cases, feasibility assessments, and implementation approaches for major K-12 initiatives
- Design operating models, governance structures, and coordination mechanisms across ministries, authorities, and delivery partners
- Support senior leadership decision-making, including preparation of strategy materials and participation in executive forums
- Oversee early execution of strategy to ensure clarity of ownership, readiness, and measurable impact
- Lead and develop a small strategy team and manage external advisors where required
Requirements
- 12+ years experience in education strategy, public sector strategy, or large-scale system transformation
- Proven experience owning K-12 or education system strategy (not just policy analysis or advisory support)
- Management consulting experience (MBB/T2/Big4 or boutique consulting)
- Strong ability to prioritize initiatives, manage trade-offs, and sequence delivery
- Experience working with senior government stakeholders, ministries, or system-level leaders
- Comfortable operating in complex, multi-stakeholder education environments
Preferred Skills
- Direct experience in K-12 systems, education reform, or school networks
- Middle East or emerging market experience
- Experience designing delivery models or system-wide transformations
